TROOPS ON LEAVE

MEMBERS OF THIRD ECHELON. PERIOD TO AUGUST 14. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Members of the third echelon of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force will begin leave today and tomorrow, when they will depart from the mobilisation camps to start approximately a fortnight’s leave. All third echelon units, including the spe-cially-raised Railway, Forestry and Army Troops Engineer companies, are included in the leave orders. All ranks will return to camp during the threeday period August 12. 13 and 14. The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, said yesterday that the men would not all go out of camp on the same day. It might take a couple of days to get them all away. The period of leave would be approximately 11 days, and all the men would have to be back in camp by August 14.
