Messrs A. Hunter (Timaru), E. Rolands (Palmerston North), A. MacCarlie, R. G. Drummond, J. H. McElrea and R. W. Ferris (Wellington) are guests today at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. The Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, has been ordered into hospital to undergo an operation in the near future. It is expected that he will not be able to fulfil his duties for the next two months. Dr. Murray A. Stewart, who has been doing post-graduate study in England for the last 12 months, has gained his diploma in medical radiology (D.M.R.E.). Dr. Stewart is a son of Mr William Stewart, chemist, Invercargill. He is a former pupil of the Southland Boys’ High School and also of the Timaru Boys’ High School. After obtaining his degree in Otago University, Dr. Stewart was a house surgeon in the Masterion and Waikato hospitals. Advice of his appointment as shipping identification officer at Wellington from August 3. has been received from the Naval Secretary by Mr G. F. Bothamlcy, clerk assistant of the House of Representatives. Mr Bothamley. who holds the rank of lieutenantcommander, served with the Royal Navy for three and a half years during the Great War. The temporary vacancy caused by his absence from Parliament Buildings will be filled by Mr H. N. Dollimore, second clerk assistant.
