CLIPPER SERVICE

FIRST HONEYMOON RESERVATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 30. Th first honeymoon reservation on the Pan-American Clipper out of Auckland has been made for the flying boat leaving for San Francisco on August 17. The couple, who will be married in St Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday, August 10, are Miss Cathella Holmes, daughter of the late Captain R. G. Holmes and Mrs R. Holmes, Parnell, and Mr Franklin Hull, chief mechanic at the Auckland base of PanAmerican Airways. Miss Holmes has been to San Francisco twice before, once under sail in 1922 in the old barque Manurewa, of which her father was master, and recently by steamer. She hopes to be the first woman to fly from Auckland to San Francisco. Stationed at Auckland base for nearly a year, Mr Hull, an American citizen, has been transferred to San Fancisco, and expects to work there for a while before being transferred again to another base. Mr Hull and Miss Holmes met in Auckland. The bridal suite in the Clipper has been dismantled, but the couple said that even if it had been available they would not have taken it.
