LINER NEARS COMPLETION.—The 18,000,000-dollar liner America, of 35,440 tons, pictured as she neared completion at Newport News recently, Built for the United States Lines, the big ship will carry a crew of 639, and will have facilities for 1221 passengers. Funnels, superstructure and lifeboats are already completed and in place. She has an over-all length of 723 feet.
