EXTENSION OPPOSED BY MR CURTIN MATTER FOR THE PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA. I IF PRESENT POSITION CONTINUES. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr J. Curtin) expressed opposition to the reference of the proposal to extend the life of Parliament to "anybody except the people of Australia.” He added: “It is nobody else’s business. I see no difficulty in holding an election, assuming that Australia, when the election is due, is in the same position as it is in at present.”
