SOLWAY COLLEGE
PATRIOTIC CONCERT LAST NIGHT. OUTSTANDING ENTERTAINMENT. The McGregor Hall, Knox Church, Masterton, was packed with an appreciative audience last night when the pupils of Solway College presented an excellent concert in aid of the local Red Cross funds. The programme was of a very high standard and reflected the greatest credit on those responsible. The efforts by the choir were particularly pleasing. The opening item was a very effective tableau by the choir, “There will Always be an England.” Interspersed with variety and solo dances and pianoforte solos, the programme featured “Seven League Boots,” which depicted a trip through the nations via their national dances. Outstanding features of the entertainment were two acts of the play “Make Believe” by A. A. Milne, which was very well presented. - A vivid play without words was another excellent item, depicting visits to the dentist. The singing of the National Anthem brought the entertainment to a close.
