WORKINGMEN’S CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the South Wairarapa Working Men’s Club was held on Monday evening. Mr R. Gallon occupied the chair and there was a good attendance of members. The report and balance sheet disclosed that the club had had a successful year. It was decided that £350 be loaned to the Government free of interest for the duration of the war and six months after. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President. Mr W. Grigg; vice-president, Mr G. Burns; committee. Messrs N. S. McLeod. J. E. Raison and A. Playle; auditors. Messrs J. Kiernan and F. Wood. The retiring president. Mr R. Gallon, expressed his thanks to the members for their loyalty to him during his term as president. SHORTAGE OF READING MATTER AT TAUHERENIKAU CAMP. In common with other camps there is a shortage of reading matter at the Tauherenikau Camp. Magazines and weekly publications would be specially welcomed and such can be left with Mr H. G. Carter, Main Street, who will arrange for forwarding the same to the camp Golf. The fourball game to be played on Saturday will be for the Keltie trophy. The competition for the challenge cup and the Balfour memorial trophy, set down for decision on July 28, will be postponed owing to the exhibition match between J. Hornabrook and D. C. Collins and J. C. Feast and B. Kiernan.
