BRITISH RECOGNITION
OF CZECHOSLOVAK NATIONAL COMMITTEE. AS PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, July 23. The Prime Minister (Mr Winston Churchill) announced in the House of Commons the recognition of the Czechoslovak National Committee as the Provisional Czechoslovak Government. Dr. Benes had informed Viscount Halifax (Foreign Minister) of a composition of a Provisional Czechoslovak Government which had been joined by several members of the previous National Committee. The British Government’s recognition had been sought and granted.
