MAHUNGA CLUB GAMES BOGEY ROUND. RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S PLAY. The best cards' returned for a bogey round played on Saturday by members cf the Mahunga Golf Club were: K. McFarlane 2 up, A. H. Ward 2 up, J. Corbishley 1 down, W. W. Hendry 1 down, I. McFarlane 1 down, L. M. Roach 2 down. The semi-finals of the Captain’s Trophy competition were completed during the weekend, the results being: K. McFarlane beat R. J. Towns 4/3; R. B. McPherson beat G. T. Wagg 3/2. MASTERTON STABLEFORD COMPETITION. A Stableford competition played by members of the Masterton Golf Club on Saturday was won by G. Falloon. RIVERSIDE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST. FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND. For the first qualifying round of the Riverside Golf Club’s championship on Saturday afternoon the weather was rather unpropitious at the start and everybody came prepared for a gooc soaking. Shortly after play commenced, however, conditions changed greatly and the afternoon turned out quite a pleasant one for golf. Players were keen to do their best, but evidently their keenness spelt the downfall of a number of players. WIN FOR LOCAL TEAM. In a match played on the Riverside links during the weekend the Riverside team defeated Carterton by 19 matches to 7, 4 being all square.
