PRAYER FOR BRITAIN

BISHOP OF WELLINGTON’S SUGGESTION. The Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, urges that, with “the Battle of Britain” being regarded as about to begin, all people should endeavour at various periods throughout the day and especially at noon to offer up a short prayer for the safety of the British Isles. Bishop Holland urges that the following praver, founded on one 600 years old, be offered up by everyone: O God defend the British Isles at this time, And guard them with Thy holy hand. Bishop Holland requests that this prayer be offered up individually and repeatedly by everyone throughout the day wherever he or she may happen to be.
