WEDDING

MORTENSEN—PARK. The marriage took place recently at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Awamutu, of Hilda Mavis Emily, fourth daughter of the late Mrs and Mr E. Park, late of Wanganui, and Thomas Lofas Mortensen, third son of Mrs E. Jacobsen, Masterton. The Rev. J. C. Young officiated.

The bride, who was escorted by Mr E. O. Jepson, looked charming in a gown of shimmering satin. Her long embroidered veil was held to her head with a halo of lilies and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white cyclamens and chrysanthemums. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Edna Fairhurst, of Huntly, who wore a sea blue frock with fitting bodice of taffeta, and frilled skirt of pin spot net. Gold shoes and head band matched the streamers of her bouquet of autumn tinted chrysanthemums and blue delphiniums. The flower girl, little Ata Yates, wore a Victorian frock of pink taffeta, white shoes and silver head band and carried a silver basket ,of pink and white chrysanthemums. Mr Frank Matthews carried out the duties of best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by the flower girl. The reception was subsequently held in the Regent Tea Lounge, the tables being decorated in pink and blue flowers. Mrs Jepson received the guests wearing a navy costume with hat to match and carried an autumn tinted bouquet.
