Mrs Wyeth, of Masterton, is visiting Napier.

Miss J. Gardiner, of Pahiatua, is the guest of Mrs Rei Darley, Paeroa. The Rev Mother Cecilia, head of the Sisters of Compassion Order, and Sister Zita have returned to Wellington from a two months' visit to Australia. During their absence they visited Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Broken Hill.

A message of congratulation and goodwill has been sent by the Mayor of Petone, jyir London, to the Queen of Rarotonga, known in Wellington' as Mrs Tiwi Love, wife of Captain Love, who is in England with the Maori Battalion. Mrs Love will leave New Zealand to assume the responsibilities' of Queen of Rarotonga in August or September. She was educated in New Zealand, where she resided for many years before her marriage, as the ward of the late Sir Maui and Lady Pomare, to whom she was related.

The death occurred in Napiei- yesterday of Mrs G. E. Waterworth, wife of Dr Waterworth, after a long illness. She was 43 years of age. Mrs Waterworth was the only child of Mr and Mrs McGilvray, now of Dannevirke. She trained as a nurse at Napier Public Hospital. She was an active worker for many years on behalf of the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home, which she served as a committee member. She was one of the originating members of the Napier Repertory Players. She is survived by Dr Waterworth and two children.
