CELEBRITY CONCERT
OPERA HOUSE ON SATURDAY RICH ENTERTAINMENT PROMISED The Centennial Celebrity Concert to be given in the Masterton Opera House on Saturday night will enable the residents of the district to hear tists of world-wide repute. It is sfJF dom indeed that so many notable singers are included on the one programme, as will be the case on Saturday, when the vocalists will be Miss Isobel Baillie (soprano), Miss Gladys Ripley (contralto), Mr Heddle Nash (tenor), and Mr Oscar Natzke (bass). Mr Clifford Huntsman an English pianist will be the accompanist and solo pianist. In addition the Centennial String quartet, comprising Messrs Vincent Aspey, Harry Ellwood. W ilham McLean and Frank Bate will contribute to the programme. Mr Heddle Nash, as a concert and operatic singer, has achieved manynotable successes and few English artists have had such a rapid rise to fame. He is deservedly acclaimed as one of our greatest tenors, and has gained a high reputation at Covent Garden. The flexibility of his voice, the evenness of tone, his sparkling personality, the naturalness of his sll ?S' ing and his sympathetic interpretation of his songs .have charmed music lovers everywhere. , The box plan opens at the Arts and Crafts tomorrow.
