FEATHERSTON
SOLDIERS’ DANCE ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The dance given by the Patriotic Society for the entertainment of soldiers on Saturday night was much enjoyed, there being a good attendance. The three services, sea, land and air, were represented. Mr G. Hyland acted as M.C. and the music was supplied by Te Tau’s Orchestra. Supper was provided by the ladies’ committee. Bride to be Honoured. On Friday night ,a social was held in honour of Miss Zena Tutbury, who is shortly to be married. A very pleasant time was spent in dancing to the music of Mr Daysh. During the evening Miss Tutbury was presented by Mr Card on behalf of friends with a handsome handbag, containing a cheque and a signed autograph book. Mr Card extended best wishes to Miss Tutbury for her future welfare. Mr F. Alexandra suitably replied on behalf of Miss Tutbury. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought an enjoyable gathering to a close. Personal Items. Miss Joan McKenzie, Wellington ’ was a weekend visitor to Featherston. Messrs M. Harray and J. Raper, of the R.N.V.R., Wellington, paid a visit to Featherston during the weekend.
