WOMEN’S DIVISION f SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held a successful shop day yesterday. The takings are expected to reach £l7. The dinner was won by E. Galyer and the cake by R. Page. FAREWELL SOCIAL PRESENTATION TO MR BRYDON. A farewell social was tendered to Mr J. Brydon last evening in the Masonic Hall by members of the Athletic Club, Combined Sports, and Returned Soldiers’ Association. During the proceedings Mr McLeod, on behalf of the Athletic Club, presented Mr Brydon with a pipe, and Mr F. W. Smith asked him to accept a fountain pen from the Combined Sports bodies. Mr Brydon suitably replied. A number of toasts were honoured. Mr J. Buck was pianist. Personal Items. Miss C. Gray is spending the weekend in Wellington. Miss O. Gray, of Main Street, is on a holiday at Plimmerton. Mr H. McPhee is on the sick list and is confined to his home. The postmaster, Mr E. Maddison, has been confined to his house with influenza. Mr K. Allen left this week for Nelson, where he will spend a holiday. Mr Adams, Carterton, is on relieving duty at the Bank of New Zealand. Miss Maureen Nix, Tauherenikau, has jo, ivied the Nursing Staff of the MasteAfoi Hospital.
