Dalton) announced that during June 53.048 tons of products, destined for the enemy, were seized by the contraband control. Most of the tonnage was seized in the Mediterranean by British units and was obviously intended originally for Italy's use. The figure includes 42.000 tons of petroleum and allied products. 9.000 tons of scrap iron or steel. 700 tons of oil seeds, 62 tons of turpentine and one ion of port wine. The figures are above the average for the winter months of October to April.
