HUNGARIAN PROTEST
REGARDING FRONTIER INCIDENTS PRESENTED TO RUMANIA. REPORTED EXCHANGE OF SHOTS (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) BUDAPEST, July 1. It is officially stated that all leave for Army officers and police has been cancelled. Three Hungarian civilians were killed when Rumanian patrols fired across the frontier yesterday. Hungary has protested to Rumania regarding the frontier incidents. Official quarters declare that an army corps is mobilising on the Hun-garian-Rumanian frontier after incidents between Hungarian and Rumanian troops. Rumanian guards are reported to have fired on Hungarian guards at Vichbad yesterday, whereupon the Hungarians retaliated, forcing the Rumanians to retreat. FORMALLY RENOUNCED BRITISH & FRENCH GUARANTEES OF INTEGRITY. (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) BUCHAREST, July 1. It is officially stated that Rumania is renouncing the British and French guarantees regarding her territorial integrity.
