Children’s Patriotic Effort. On Thursday much interest was aroused by a display in Mr Jesson’s window of knitted garments made by the pupils of the Secondary Department of the Eketahuna District High School for the Air Force. The girls themselves had prepared the window, which displayed thirteen sleeveless pullovers, thirteen pairs of mittens, four scarves, and a pair of heelless, spiral-rib socks. One of the pairs of mittens had been knitted by a boy. These pupils are sending each month three parcels of comforts for soldiers, one parcel being from each form. They have also sent a good collection of needles and buttons to the Masterton Ladies’ Patriotic Committee.
