IN AID OF RED CROSS FUNDS

SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. The Opaki children acquitted themselves with credit in the entertainment staged by them at Mr Cooper’s barn, all the items being much appreciated by the audience. The efforts of the junior band, conducted by Ashley Jenkins, brought forth prolonged applause. The whole performance showed the great amount of work put in by the teacher. Mrs O. Callaghan and children. A bag of sugar was donated by Mr Hodgins and disposed of. Buttonholes were sold by Mrs Percy. As the result of the gathering about £6 12s will be available for the Red Cross Funds. Mr West supplied the music and Mr Cooper gave the use of his barn free of charge.
