MEETING OF COMMITTEE LAST NIGHT. FINAL ARRANGEMENTS MADE. At the general committee meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association last night arrangements were finalised for the annual ball, in aid of patriotic funds, to be held in the Masterton Municipal Hall on Wednesday, July 10. The secretary, Mr R. H. Williams, reported that the Borough Council had granted the use of the hall free, subject to receipt of the statement of accounts. The following were appointed to carve the game, etc.: Messrs J. E. Broad. P. R. Welch, J. Gray, A. H. Falloon, L. Connolly, L. Meredith, R. M. Perry, Gordon Lee, N. Blatchford, G. F. Candy, W. James, and Francis Shaw. The secretary was instructed to arrange with the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club for members to assist with the decorations on July 9 and the polishing of the floor on July 10. It was decided to write to the commanding officers of Tauherenikau and Trentham Camps inviting soldiers to be present as the guests of the association. Messrs Gordon Lee. D. McLachlan and R. M. Perry offered the use of their lorries to cart goods, etc. The following offered to make donations of goods, etc.: iMr N. Blatchford. 10s worth of fruit and two gallons of milk; Mr S. H. Cotter, a ham and a gallon of milk: A. H. Falloon, four gallons of milk, and L. Meredith milk or cream. Mr E. Jenkins offered his services where required.
