CARD EVENING

GATHERING AT Y.M.C.A. The usual enthusiasm was in evidence last night, when over seventy players sat down to bridge and five hundred, at the fortnightly card evening arranged by the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. The comfortably heated hall made a pleasing setting for an enjoyable evening. Prizes for the evening’s play were awarded to Mrs Palmer and Mr Vincent in the bridge section and to Mrs Hope and Mr Wilkinson in the five hundred. This was the sixth and final night of the first round for aggregate prizes and the keen competition that has been shown right through resulted as follows:— Bridge: Mrs Gardner and Mr Williams; five hundred. Mrs Morris and Mr Bakie. Mrs H. E. Pither, president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary, after presenting the various prizes, announced that the next card evening would be on Thursday, July 11, at 7.45 p.m.. when the next round would begin for further aggregate prizes.
