GERMAN REPORT

(Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) BERLIN, June 23. A High Command communique says:—“Motorised units have continued to advance along the Atlantic coast towards La Rochelle, capturing St. Nazzaire and also a number of enemy tanks loaded for shipment. The German advance eastward and southward from Lyons continues. Units crossed the Rhone, at the edge of the Savoy Alps, south-west from Geneva. Our planes severely damaged five merchant ships, sank two transports and destroyed thirty planes at aerodromes. The enemy yesterday lost 49 planes. Four of ours are missing. A submarine sank a IG.OOO ton tanker.”
