ALFREDTON
SHEEP DOG TRIALS (“Times-Age” Special.) The Alfredton Sheep Dog Trial Club will hold the annual trials at Alfredton on Thursday. Friday, and Saturday next. The whole of the profits from the meeting will be given to the Red Cross fund for the Sick and Wounded and the committee hope for a record gathering. The trial ground is situated two miles from Alfredton on the Pahiatua road on the property of Mrs K. J. Didsbury. kindly lent for the occasion, and is a steep course and a good test for dogs. There are nine cups and numerous trophies to be competed for and the latter include two for young farmers, three for maiden competitor and dog. and one for novice competitor in Clas: Illa. The heading events are being run in conjunction, and competitors for these events are advised to be early on Thursday. Last year over seventy dogs competed in the huntaway classes and this year's entries are expected to be well up to that standard. The sheep are a good even line of two-tooth wethers kindly lent by Mrs A. IVI. Rutherford. Arawa. Anyone requiring information regarding the trials should ring J. B.
