BADMINTON

WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION INTER-CLUB COMPETITION DRAW. MATCHES TO COMMENCE ON JUNE 17. The following is the draw for the Wairarapa Badminton Association's B grade inter-club competition, all matches to be played within seven days of the date stated: — First round, June 17: Masterton v. St. Matthew’s, at Masterton; Red Star v. Martinborough, at Martinborough Second round. July 8: Masterton v. Red Star, at Masterton; St. Matthew’s, v. Martinborough, at Martinborough. Third round, July 29: Red Star v. St. Matthew’s, at St. Matthew's; Masterton v. Martinborough, at .Masterton. Teams may consist of eight or twelve players by mutual arrangement, and failing agreement shall consist of eight players. Shuttles shall be used on a fifty-fifty basis. Play will be 21 points up for men's doubles and combined doubles, and 15 points up for ladies' doubles.

The grading committee have classified players below Messrs P. Hawksworth. J. J. Payton, J. Lulham and Miss Betty Payton as B grade players and elegible to play in the competition.

To enable publication of the results immediately after matches and to facilitate the keeping of records, club captains and secretaries are asked to hand the results into the Association secretary (Mr C. J. Carle, “Times-Age”) without delay.
