ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

NURSING DIVISION. SEWING BEE. The St. John Ambulance Nursing Division Auxiliary held its first sewing bee for the making of comforts for the sick and wounded soldiers in the Sketch Club rooms. There was a large number of helpers including members of the Townswomen’s Guild. A number of articles were completed and should prove very useful. The convenors wish to thank Mrs Moss for many useful gifts of socks, mittens, etc., the ladies of the Townswomen’s Guild for materials, Mrs Turner for a large chest, Mrs Miller Hope and Mrs Deal for sewing machines, Mrs McCord and Mrs Cohen for materials, and Mrs Pither for a tin of biscuits for afternoon tea.

The Nursing Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade has received a notification from headquarters of the acceptance of the resignation of Miss M. Barrer.
