BANKRUPT MECHANIC
MEETING OF CREDITORS. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of William Albert Russell, of Carterton, late of Masterton, a mechanic was held at the office of D.0.A., Mr A. D. Low, this morning. Bankrupt was represented by Mr N. W. Whiteman. There were three creditors present. Bankrupt in his statement, attributed his position to the fact that liabilities incurred during the period of his unemployment in Palmerston North kept him behind from the time he started work in Masterton in February, 1934. He was just beginning to get in a position to meet his liabilities when he lost his employment in Masterton. Owing to extreme pressure from one of his creditors he was compelled to file a petition in bankruptcy. The amount owing to unsecured creditors was shown at £l2l 2s lOd. and the total assets, furniture were estimated at £75, leaving a deficiency of £46 2s lOd. It was decided that Mr Kerslake be instructed to make an inventory and valuation of the furniture and report to a later meeting.
