PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr and Mrs E. Hutchings were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs L. S. Burling. Mr G. Powell spent the weekend with his parents at Makuri. The friends of Mr L. Fearne will be glad to know that he is making some recovery from the injury he received when a log rolled on his leg recently. Carl, the young son of Mr and Mrs J. Liverton, of Waihoki, is making a good recovery from an operation for appendicitis which he underwent in the Pahiatua Hospital. Dog Trials. A number of workers under the direction of Mr J. B. Smith, the energetic secretary of the Dog Trial Club, is preparing the courses and erecting the necessary sheds, shelters and yards for the trails to be held on Mrs K. Didsbury’s property, Pah Valley, beginning on June 13. Golf Abandoned. Play on the local links had to be abandoned over the weekend owing to the severity of a storm which swept the district. A heavy thunderstorm was of exceptional severity in the Rakanui district. Later in the evening the power supply was interrupted and was'not restored until after midnight.
