FULL OF CONFIDENCE

FRENCH HIGH COMMAND FIGHTING STILL IN PROGRESS IN BOULOGNE. CONSIDERABLE ENEMY LOSSES. (Received This Day. 9 a.m.) LONDON, May 26. A French military spokesman in Paris said: “The Allies have repulsed all German attacks in the region of Courtrai. The French are still fighting in Boulogne. The enemy has not threatened Calais. The general situation must still be considered grave, but the French High Command is full of confidence about the future. The German losses have been considerable. The Germans suffered especially heavy losses at a point near Courtrai, where the French launched a fresh attack. Activity lessened during the night. On the western part of the front some German armoured units continued to filter through towards the Channel coast, but with less success.”
