FIRM RESOLVE

PROSECUTION OF THE WAR TO VICTORY

LABOUR CAUCUS RESOLUTION.

SUPPORT FOR ALL NECESSARY MEASURES.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, This Day

The caucus of members of the Parliamentary Labour Party concluded a few minutes before 3 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, after a continuous sitting from the time proceedings were resumed in the morning. Aspects of New Zealand’s war effort occupied most of the time of the caucus, both on Friday, when it sat till late at night, and again on Saturday. The suggestion from the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Hamilton, that steps should be taken to form a National Government, is believed to have occupied the attention of the caucus for the greater part of Saturday’s meeting.

The following resolution was- carried by the caucus:—“At this hour of great peril to our country and the British Commonwealth, the members of the Parliamentary Labour Party solemnly affirm their determination to do all that lies in their power to prosecute the war to a successful conclusion, and pledge themselves to support every measure of whatever nature that is necessary to attain this end.”
