INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CLUB RINKS COMPETITION. FIXTURES FOR THIS WEEK. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club has nearly completed the rinks section, leaving the rinks of Fenton and Stains leading with six wins and two losses each. Next Thursday’s games should find the winner of this competition which has been very interesting and produced some unexpected results. The club played four rinks from Carterton, Masterton being the winners by 3 wins to one. The following are the results of last week’s games: —Dixon beat Nuttall, 24/16; Pickering beat Walker, 23/19; Stains beat Grantham, 20/15; Roff beat Finlayson, 19/15. The fixtures for this week are as follow: —Pairs competition: Tuesday, 7 p.m., No. 1: Petersen, Hendry (s) v. Harris, Grantham (s); No. 2, L. Read, Pickering (s) v. Hearps, Pinkney (s); 8 p.m., No. 1, Attree, Mayes (s) v. Andrews, R. Read (s); No. 2, Onion, Joyce (s) v. Jansen, S. Henson (s); 9 p.m., No. 1, McNab, Edwards (s) v. Butler, Dixon (s); No. 2, Downes, Fenton (s) v. Hanley, McFarlane (s). Wednesday, 7 p.m., No. 1: Dewar, Leigh (s) v. O’Donnell, Stains (s); No. 2, Catton, Roff (s) v. A. Henson, Nuttall (s); 3 p.m., No. 1, Fitzgerald, Harrington (s) v. Mooney, Miller (s); No. 2, Larsen, Buckley (s) v. Phillips, Finlayson (s); 9 p.m., No. 1, Larsen, Buckley (s) v. Lipp, Simpson (s); No. 2, Fitzgerald, Harrington (s) v. Norman, Walkei- (s). Thursday: Rinks final games. 7 p.m., No. 1, Nuttali’ v. Stains; No. 2, Moore v. Pickering; 8.30 p.m., Nb. 1, Fenton v. Grantham; No. 2, Roff v. Dixon. All leads must note their respective skips, as only the names of skips will be published in future games.
