APPLE TART

SOMETHING FOR SUNDAY’S LUNCHEON.

Roll out 11b puff pastry and cut into round the size of a dinner plate. Peel, core, and cut into halves, then into thin slices. Place them neatly on the pastry, but not too near the edge. Sprinkle with a little sugar, a very little castor sugar, and a few raisins or sultanas. Place in a hot oven at first until pastry is well risen, then decrease heat and cook until apples are tender. Serve hot or cold.
