GREYTOWN
TABLE TENNIS SEASON OPENED. ("Times-Age" Special.) There was a large attendance at the opening of the Methodist Table Tennis Club's season last evening. Visitors were present from the Featherston Club and the Greytown Anglican Club. A combined doubles tournament was played,' the winners being A. Carter and Miss M. Keltie, who scored a win over B. McNamara and Miss P. Allen in the final.

Keltie 2 wins 1 loss, N. Gray and K. Nicholson 0 wins 3 losses, B. Sykes and M- McCalmont 2 wins 1 loss, F. Saba and Mr Mayson 2 wins 1 loss, J. McKay and R. Eaton 1 win 2 losses, Mrs Mayson and C. Mitchell 2 wins 2 losses, M. Keltie and A. Carter 4 wins 0 losses, Mrs Nicholson and B. Dick 2 wins 1 loss,'Miss Taylor and P. Shelley 0 wins 3 losses, M. Corley and M. Sykes 1 win 2 losses. Personal Items. Mrs W. G. K. Wiggins and Miss Isobel Wiggins have returned to Greytown from a visit to Levin. Mr and Mrs T. G. R. Ingley left for Rotorua this morning. The death occurred at the Grey town Hospital on Saturday night of Mr Donald Cross at the age of 80 years. The late Mr Cross was born at White Rock and was a son of the late Mr Donald Cross who later lived at Morison's Bush. He was unmarried and had resided in the Greytown district for many years. The funeral took place yesterday.
