By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.43 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.
An intensified drive for - recruits for the A.I.F. begins today. “Now or never” has been adopted as the slogan of a recruiting drive and all posters and literature will emphasise the urgency of need for men. As a lead to others who can afford a financial sacrifice for the Nation’s war needs, the Premier, Mr A. Mair, has arranged to lend £4OOO to the Commonwealth, free of interest, for the duration of the war. The view that Australia was not doing nearly enough to help the Empire’s war effort was expressed by Mr Mair.
