COURSING

WAIRARAPA CLUB ACTIVITIES. PREPARATIONS FOR BIG MEETING. A Committee meeting of the Wairarapa Coursing Club was held last evening to prepare for the forthcoming big meeting of the season, the New Zealand classics, the Derby and Oaks, to be run on the Akura Plumpton, on June 1 and 3. The club confidently expects entries from all over New Zealand and already enquiries and entries support that confidence. Arrangements are under way for the entertainment of visiting dog owners and friends and an energetic sub-committee has been formed for that purpose. Although the club's stock of hares at Akura is sound, nothing is being left to chance, and an extensive hare drive is planned for the weekend, club members and helpers are asked to attend.
