COURT FAREWELL
TRIBUTE TO MR C. C. MARSACK’S SERVICES. A pleasant function took place prior to the commencement of business at the fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning, when representatives of the legal profession throughout the Wairarapa assembled to farewell Mr C. C. Marsack, prior to his entering the Army for active service. A tribute to Mr Marsack’s fine personal qualities was made by Mr T. Jordan, on behalf of the Law Society. Mr Jordan referred to Mr Marsack’s service in the last war and on behalf of the community expressed his thanks to Mr'Marsack for the example he had set. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M. expressed his pleasure at tlie remarks passed by Mr Jordan, stating that the Cqurt staff and legal profession wished Mr Marsack every possible success. Detective-Sergeant W. Kane associated himself with the previous speakers. Mr Marsack stated that he would take away very pleasant memories of his experience with the Masterton Court. He referred to the pleasant passage of justice which went through under Mr. Lawry’s presidency. On behalf of the Greytown and Martinborough districts Messrs J. F. Thompson, and H. Lawson sent their best wishes ot Mr Marsack.
