DISTRICT SALES TOMORROW. PROCEEDS FOR EX-SERVICEMEN. Tomorrow is Poppy Day and the public of Masterton and residents of the Wairarapa district will be asked to purchase Flanders Poppies as a symbol of remembrance of fallen soldiers in tlie Great War of 1914-1918. Mrs T. Jordan (Mayoress of Masterton) is organising the local sales, assisted by a willing band of ladies. The proceeds from the sales will be retained by the R.S.A. for relief of ex-servicemen in the district during the winter months.

The minimum price per poppy is Is and the R.S.A. is confident that the public will respond in the same liberal manner as in the past, and although the nation is involved in another war, (he “Diggers” of the last war are not forgotten. Those who buy poppies on Poppy Day are asked to wear them on Anzac Day as a national emblem of remembrance.
