The recent purchase of the sire Christopher Robin for New Zealand draws attention to the opinion formed in Victoria about a son of his. the two-'year-old colt Halifax. He is certainly endowed with staying blood and from that viewpoint alone he appears to be a likely Derby colt. Christopher Robin is by Phalaris, sire of such notable racehorses and stallions as Fairway. Caerleon. Bold Archer. Pharos and Manna. Phalaris has been represented in the Dominion by Robespierre, Shambles, Phaleron Bay and .Myosotis. Bareena. dam of Halifax, is by Woorak winner of £16.800. from Queen Battery by Comedy King from Cross Battery, by Stepniak. Queen Battery was a sister, to Artilleryman. Cross Battery was bred in New Zealand. ;
