GREYTOWN
RIFLE CLUB COMPETITION ARRANGEMENTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A special meeting of the Grey town Defence Rifle Club was held in the Working Men’s Club last night. There were present Messrs G. Te Whaiti (president), H. Walden (treasurer), A. G. Rhodes (secretary), R. Ingley, R. Eaton, C. Jury, H. C. Trotman, T. Orr and G. Rhodes. It was decided to hold the service shoot on Saturday afternoon and continue with the championships. All shields and cups will be fired for over the weekend. It was decided that all members must fire the service classes before being able to take part in the championships. Pre-Wedding Party. There was a large attendance at the Odd Fellows' Hall last evening at a pre-wedding party given in honour of Miss Sybil Power, who has been a member of the Greytown Hospital nursing staff for several years. Mr J. F. Thompson. in a happy speech, referred to the high esteem in which their guest was held, and asked her to accept the accompanying gifts and the good wishes of all those present. Musical honours were accorded Miss Power. Mr Ken Woodley expressed thanks on behalf of Miss Power for the numerous gifts.
