Porpoise in Manawatu River. An unusual sight in the Manawatu River at Foxton a few days ago was a porpoise, which many people nearby thought was a shark. The porpoise spent some time playing near the wharf and then disappeared. It is said that porpoises rarely travel so far up the river, the wharf being seven miles from the heads. Not What Was Meant.
