INCREASES IN WAGES WANTED. CLAIMS BEFORE ARBITRATION COURT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Increases in wages are claimed by the managers of butler and cheese factories in fhp North Island in award claims before the Arbitration Court today for butter factories. The claim was for .£312 per year for under 100 tons, increased by 7s per ton from 100 to 300 tons. 5s from 301 to GOO tons. 3s from GDI to 1(100 tons. Is from '6Ol to 2(10(1 foil-: and 3d from 2001 io 3000 tons. 'lhe claim for choose factories was .£252 for under -10 ions, increased by Us per ion from -10 to (too tons. 3s from GO I to I GOO tons. Is from 1G0! to 2000 lons and 3d from 2001 Io 3000 lons. The increases were opposed on the grounds that the manager:' were paid in proportion Io oilier factory workers and that any increase would reduce the reward factory suppliers received for their labours, which reward, it was stated. was not ns great as that of the factory mamigers.
