DIRECTOR OF HOUSING
MR C. W. ALBERTSON'S NEW POST. TRANSFER FROM HIGHWAYS BOARD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. A pill 8. The appointment of Mr G. W. Albertson as Director of Housing has been made by Cabinet. Mr Albertson is engineer to the Main Highways Board, a position also held by Mr A. Tyndall (now Mr Justice Tyndall) be-' fore he became Director of Housing. After 20 years in Christchurch. Mr F. Langbein, District Public Works Engineer, has been promoted to succeed Mr Albertson as Main Highways Engineer. His successor as district engineer is Mr T. G. Beck, who has distinguished himself as irrigation engineer in South Cante' bury. These appointments were announced by the Minister cf Public Works. Mr Semple.
“Mr Albertson has han all-round experience as an engineer, having been stationed in many parts of New Zealand in the last 32 years with the Public Works Department." said the Minister of Housing, Mr Armstrong, "He took Mr Justice Tyndall’s place as engineer at the head office of the Main Highways Board and he was very highly recommended for the position of Director of Housing by Mr Justice Tyndall, the engineer-in-chief of the Public Works Department. Mr John Wood, and by the Public Service Commissioner. Mr Albertson is in the front rank of engineers in the Dominion and according to representations made tci me he is a man very well suited for the position. Th? transfers will take place almost immediately.”
