CRICKET MATCH BETWEEN DAIRY ("Times-Age” Special.) In a cricket match played at the Solway Showgrounds yesterday the Mauriceville Dairy Co defeated the Masterton Dairy Co after an interesting contest. In the first innings, Masterton made 36 (J. Wright 14) and in the second 43. Mauriceville replied with 45 (E. Algar 18) and 3 wickets for 36 (P. Condon 24). CROQUET CLOSING OF SEASON. The Mauriceville Croquet Club closed its season on Saturday. Owing to. the wot weather, a card afternoon was held at the residence of Mrs Scherf. the winner being Mrs Baine, and the runner-up, Mrs Algar. Followinkg were the prizes won for croquet during the season: Open championship, Mrs J. McKeown; runner-up. Mrs F. Scherf; handicap singles, Mrs McKeown, runner-up, Mrs H. Freeman; combined doubles. Mrs H. Trass and Mrs J. McArley; points prize, Mrs Scherf; runner-up, Mrs H. Freeman: most improved player during the season, Mrs C. Spackman. Mrs Freeman thanked the president. Mrs McKeown, for the capable way in which she had carried out her duties during the year. Afternoon tea was served by the hostess. Mrs Freeman thanking Mis Scherf for the use of her home. Personal. Mr C. G. McArley, of Taihapc. who has been visiting his parents. Mr and Mrs J. McArley, Mauriceville, has proceeded to Wellington for a few days.
