RIFLE SHOOTING KAIPARORO CLUB CONTESTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Kaiparoro Defence Rifle Club opened its season, with a practice shoot over the 500yds and 600yds ranges for a trophy presented by Mr J. Bradbury. This was won by Rifleman R. Henson with a score of 67. The scores wore as follow: R. Henson 500yds 32. 600yds 32. handicap 3. total 67; P. Henson 31, 32. 3, 66; K. Henson 33, 30. 2. 65; O. Walton 33. 31, —. 64; C. Welch 32. 29. 2, 63: D. J. Dick 30, 25, 2, 57; J. Torrey 31, 20, 3 54. The members have now commenced the championship series. The first shoot resulted in a win for President C. Welch, who takes Mr G. A. Hansen’s trophy. Top scorer for the second shoot was Rifleman O. Walton, who wins Mr W. Hornblow’s trophy. The Woodville Football Club, which has played under the banner of the Manawatu 'Rugby Union for many years, decided at its annual meeting on Monday night, to ask the permission of the Manawatu Union to become affiliated with the Bush Rugby Union.
