RED CROSS LECTURE HYGIENE AND SANITATION. The first of a series of very interesting lectures on sanitation and hygiene was given on Wednesday evening by Mr. H. A. Truman. District Health Officer for the Wairarapa. These lectures, which are being conducted under the auspices of the Red Cross Sub-Centre in Greytown, are to be given each Wednesday evening at the Plunket Rooms at 7.30 o'clock, when Mr Truman will deal with such subjects as purification of water, sanitation, prevention of disease, personal hygiene and disinfection. All persons interested should join these classes now in order to avoid missing any of this series of lectures, which will be found to be of considerable value to the whole community. Last Wednesday evening's lecture dealt with water supplies and the purification of water, also with the diseases contracted through contaminated water and the effective means of their prevention. Mr. Truman’s next lecture will be given on Wednesday, April 10. the subject for that evening being drainage. This should be of particular interest to the householders of the town.
