DOG TRIALS

TINUI COLLIE CLUB’S MEETING HIGH STANDARD OF WORK. RESULT OF LONG HEAD EVENTS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Tinui Collie Club is holding its annual trials on the property of Mr L. D. Cameron “Te Paraetai,” Tinui. Proceedings opened yesterday when the long head event was decided, the open and local contests being run in conjunction. The judge, Mr J. G. Sutherland. of Martinborough, said the standard of work so far was fairly high. Results are: — Long head (open): F. Herbert (Pongaroa). Sky Pilot. 46Jpts, 1; C. J. Hay (Tinui). Blue, 46pts. 2; L. D. Cameron (Tinui), Gem, 45pts, 3; G. Thompson (Masterton). Speed. 441pts, 4. There were 10 entries in this event.

Long head (local): C. J. Hay’s Blue. 46pts, 1; L. D. Cameron’s Gem, 45pts. 2; L. D. Cameron’s Storm. 44pts, 3. Fifteen entries. The meeting which is being continued with the short head event, will conclude tomorrow.
