FEATHERSTON
EUCHRE PARTY GATHERING AT PAHAUTEA. (“Times-Age” Special.) A euchre party and dance was held in the Pahautea Hall and was very well attended. The prizewinners were: Ladies, Miss Fluty 1, Miss Cade 2, Mrs Chisholm 3. Men, Mr V. Wood 1, Mr P. Cade 2, Mr Burt 3. Monte Carlo dances were won by Mr V. Wood and Miss C. Bargh and Mr and Mrs G. Enoka. The lucky spot dances were won by Mr A. Juno and Miss J. Burt and Mr H. Freu and Miss Cade.
Personal Items. Miss K. Shore (Wellington) and Miss Joan Wilkie (Hastings) have been the guests of Mrs Nix, Tauherenikau. A farewell social was tendered recently at the resident of Mr and Mrs Nix to Miss Wilfred Sadler who left for Auckland where she will be married on Saturday to Mr W. Charles, of the Second Echelon. A very pleasant time was spent in dancing and music. During the evening the engagement was announced of Mr W. Nix and Miss Hall. Mr and Mrs Briton (Auckland) are guests of Mr and Mrs Warrington. Pahautea.
Mrs S. Brooker (Wellington) has returned home after having been the guest of Mrs J. Mutter. Mr and Mrs A. Henderson, former resident of Pahautea and now of Gisborne.- who have been renewing old acquaintances in Featherston, have returned home.
Mr and Mrs Keys (Wellington) and Mr and Mrs Poulton (Lower Hutt) are the guests of Mrs Elbe, Pahautea. Miss Barbara Sullivan, Mr Jack Morse (Levin) and Private H. True are the guests of Mrs Sullivan, Kahutara Road. Mr and Mrs F. Sedcole, Dannevirke, are visiting Mr and Mrs C. Bargh. Pahautea.
