FEATHERSTON
LEAGUE OF MOTHERS MEETING OF LOCAL BRANCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the local branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday afternoon, Mrs Arch. Clark presiding over a good attendance of members. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Chas Buick for the work she had carried out for the past three years as secretary. As she had resigned from the position. Mrs Kilsby will act as secretary pro tern. Mrs Clark gave an interesting report of the Provincial Council meeting held in Wellington recently Mrs Rttane gave an account of the gathering of all League members held at the Exhibition recently. Mrs Clark asked to be supplied with he names of the sons of any members who bad joined the New Zealand Forces. The names are to be forwarded to the provincial president in Wellington. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Arch. Clark. Personal Items. Mrs J. E. Penny, Dannevirke, is the guest of Mrs Tutbury. Mr J. H. Waugh. Onga Onga. paid a visit to Featherston yesterday. Miss Joan McKenzie. Wellington, is home for the Easter holidays. Mrs Findlay. Petone, is the guest of Mrs E. McLeod, Hayward Street. Mrs G. Murphy is visiting Mrs Chas. Edwards. Mrs McClelland, Thames, is the guest of Mrs Charles for Easter. Miss Pauline Lyford, Lower Hutt, is visiting her aunt, Mrs E. F. Lyford. Tauherenikau. Mrs Ross. Auckland, is the guest of Miss Nix, Tauherenikau. Mr G. Hyland. "Totaranui.” is visiting his brother, Mr A. Hyland, Whakatane.
Mr H. Card. Wanganui, is visiting his brother, Mr J. W. Card. Mr and Mrs Chas. Rea returned on Thursday from a holiday -spent in Tauranga.
