HAUNUI CROQUET CLUB EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. (“Times-Age" Special.) There was a good attendance at the Haunui Croquet Club’s euchre tournament held in the Anzac Hall. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs Fluty 1, Mrs Baker 2. Men. Mr Smith 1, Mr Fluty 2. In a Button match played against Masterton on the Haunui Club’s lawn yesterday the holders, Mrs Barry and Miss Esma Card, defeated Mrs Polson and Mrs Donnelly. 26/19. Personal Items. Mrs Palmer, Marlborough, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs Chas Elgar. Fernside. Word has been received that Mr A. McGuiness, who underwent an operation in the Wellington Hospital on Thursday last, is making satisfactory progress toward recovery. Miss Brenda Bloxam left today for Feilding where she will be the guest of Miss Shirley Porter. Members of the Patriotic Committee and friends yesterday made a presentation to Air-Gunner T. Browne, who was returning to Wigram. The presentation was made by Mr J. W. Card (president). Mr and Mrs J. D. Vernon and son, Auckland, are guests of Mr and Mrs A. R. Robbins, "Poi Poi,” Pigeon Bush, for the Easter holidays.
Mrs Tullock left for Wellington yesterday to visit her daughter, Mrs D. Edwards.
