Mr and Mrs Elbridge, Invercargill, were at the Prince of Wales Hotel. .Masterton, recently. Mr and Mrs A. P. Bennett, Renal! Street, Masterton, have returned from a visit to Wellington. Misses M. Anderson and A. Anderson, Eketahuna, are staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Masterton.
Mrs Reed and Mrs McDonald, Gisborne. are guests at the Hotel Midland, Masterton. today. Mr and Mrs W. Palamontain. Cornwall Street, Masterton. are going to Paraparaumu Beach for the Easter holidays. Mrs John Ogilvy. Gladstone, will spend the Easter holidays as the guest cf her sister, Mrs P. M. Jackson, Lyall Bay. Mrs B. k. Bunny, who has been staying with iter daughter, Mrs R. Fell, Lower Hutt, has returned to Master ton. Mr and Mrs E. M. Hodder and family. Second Street, Lansdowne, are going to Paraparaumu Beach for Easter. The death occurred on Monday at Woodville of Mrs Mary Ann do Malmanche, wife of Mr Charles de Mai-, manche, at the age of 68 years.
Miss E. Caldwell, Masterton. who has.been visiting her sister. Mrs W. Hedley, Pahautea. is now staying with Miss N. Caldwell. Wellington.
Miss Nicholls, who has been staying with her sister, Mrs C. G. Monro, KingEdward Street, Lansdowne, is spending Easter with Mrs F. Perry, Martinborough. Mrs Hadmar Stitcht. who has been
visiting Australia, has returned to New Zealand and will spend the Easter holidays with her mother, Mrs J. Caselberg, Sussex Street. Masterton. After 27 years and 8 months in the Public Service, Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, Director of , the Division of School Hygiene of the Health Department since 1937, will retire on March 31. She will be given a departmental farewell on April 2.
The death has occurred in Hastings of Mrs. Margaret Rowe, aged 87 years. She was born at Penzance, Cornwall, and came to New Zealand 62 years ago. About a year after her arrival she mar-
ried the late Mr. James Rowe who also came from Cornwall. During her early days in New Zealand, Mrs. Rowe lived in Wellington and then moved to Reefton and Brunner. Mr. Rowe was killed in a Brunner mine explosion about 40 years ago. and she then moved to Greymouth, and went to Hastings about 24 years ago. Till about three or four years ago, Mrs. Rowe was a prominent worker for the Salvation Army. She leaves two daughters, Mrs Allan, Hastings, and Mrs. Wain, Christchurch, and two sons, W. and Frank Rowe, both of Greymouth.
