COMING OF AGE
ENJOYABLE DANCE AT TINUT
("Times-Age” Special.)
A coming-of-age dance was given by Mr and Mrs S. O’Hara on Saturday in the Tinui Hall in honour of the coming of age of their daughter Coie, who looked charming in a frock of blue lace taffeta.
Dancing was indulged in to music supplied by Mr Jack West. A lucky spot dance was won by Mr Bertram Schofield and Mrs Owen, and a novelty Monte Carlo was won by Mr R. Schofield and Miss Nancy O’Hara. Over 80 guests sat down to a homemade supper, where pride of place was taken by the beautifully decorated birthday cake with its 21 candles.
Mr Walter Street, in a neat speech, proposed the health of Miss Coie O’Hara, who replied, thanking all present for their beautiful gifts. Mr O'Hara then presented his daughter with the traditional key of the door, which was later autographed by the guests. A most successful gathering was brought to a close with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
